This beautifully well crafted, hand forged copper cauldron is inspired by the Welsh God, Mabon, and the autumn equinox. The durable and heavy copper bowl has a beautifully applied patina. The copper has various shades of gold, brown, red, and orange with rainbow iridescence representing the trees' leaves changing from green to their fiery fall colors.
Named after the Welsh God Mabon, the son of the Welsh Mother Goddess, Modron, Mabon is another name adapted in the 1970’s given to the Autumn Equinox. Both Modron and Mabon are said to have inspired characters in Arthurian legend, as well. The Feast of Avalon is another name for the Autumn Equinox & serves as an opportunity to nourish your body & soul for its well-being, and for restoration of balance.
The copper offering bowl measures about 6” in diameter and is about 2” deep. You will also receive a Wood Lotus Tripod Stand, perfect for cradling the brass bowl. on your altar table or mantle.
This cauldron can be used as an offering/altar bowl, for herbs, and as a valet bowl for nick knacks & jewelry. Incense & herbal bundles can also be burned in them, but salt or sand should be added to the bottom first to protect to patina. The bowl will get really hot if burning, so keep on a safe surface and allow time for it to cool down before handling.
*Patinas will have slight variations since every bowl is made by hand, not all of them will look exactly as pictured. This bowl will naturally continue to patina, especially if burning anything in it. To clean use a mild dish soap and soft cloth to dry.
